Claire - Elbow Arthroscopy

Before I saw Dr. Levine I had been having elbow pain for an entire year. I had seen other doctors and had tried physical therapy, pain medications, cortisone injections, and nothing relieved the pain. I had pain with every movement. I could not even lift a cup of coffee, unlock my door or do any day-to-day functions without pain, let along thinking of playing tennis. I decided to go to Columbia and Dr. Levine because I needed someone who focused on treating the elbow. When I saw Dr. Levine in the office right away I knew I had made the right decision. He took decisive action and recommended that I would be a good candidate for an arthroscopic ECRB and capsular debridement ("tennis elbow surgery"). Shortly after the post-operative pain went away, all the elbow pain I had had prior to surgery was gone! I went to PT diligently, worked hard with my therapist, and kept up a home exercise regimen. I never thought the day would come where I wouldn't have pain. Now, I am able to do all my day-to-day activities such as walking my friend's dogs, knitting, cooking, holding a cup of coffee without dropping, or anything that required a grip. I am looking forward to the upcoming tennis season, in addition to riding my bicycle! I also commend Dr. Levine's office team for their dedicated care, follow-up and concern during my recovery period.
